Bam doesn’t always latch on properly. I keep trying to correct him, but when he is, or I am sleepy… well, it doesn’t always work… because I’m inconsistent, he doesn’t really know that nighttime/napping nursing is supposed to be the same as daytime/awake nursing. I know that it’s something that I need to be diligent on. This has lead to very sore, and sometimes cracked nipples. You’d think I’d learn.
I’ve been on the lookout for a good nipple cream. One of the issues I had been running into was having to clean them before feeding, and when Bam’s hungry, he’s hungry. He doesn’t want to hear, “Wait a moment” especially when he can see his food source.
Motherlove sent me a jar of Nipple Cream in addition to Diaper Rash and Thrush Cream and a sample of Green Salve.
After nursing Bam, I put a little on. It was smooth, not sticky and thick like others I’d tried. It’s safe for ingestion, so I don’t have to wipe it off before feeding, which is a bonus with a hungry, cranky baby. As an added bonus, it has a pleasant smell.
I’d had pain from a sleepy baby latch, but the relief came within minutes.
I haven’t had to try the diaper rash and thrush cream yet. I’m glad that Bam hasn’t needed them, but wish I could give a review on it, though if it’s anything like the nipple cream, I will not think twice about grabbing for Bam when he needs it.

A portion of the proceeds go to Nurturing Life Foundation, which helps mothers in need. They help mothers realize the more natural options in parenting.
